A bill

 

TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY ADDING SECTION 2-1-260 SO AS TO REQUIRE EVERY MEMBER OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO SERVE AS A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER, OR OTHERWISE VOLUNTEER, AT A SOUTH CAROLINA K-12 PUBLIC SCHOOL.

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

 

SECTION 1.  Chapter 1, Title 2 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:

 

    Section 2-1-260. Five times each year, every member of the General Assembly must serve as a substitute teacher or volunteer at a South Carolina K-12 public school.

 

SECTION 2.  This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
