A house RESOLUTION

 

TO EXTEND A WARM WELCOME TO FAMED STAND-UP COMEDIAN AND ACTOR KATT WILLIAMS AS HE VISITS THE PALMETTO STATE AND PERFORMS ON MARCH 29, 2024, AT THE NORTH CHARLESTON COLISEUM.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives has learned that comedy legend and Emmy Award-winning actor Katt Williams will be performing for Charleston-area audiences on March 29, 2024, at the North Charleston Coliseum as part of his Dark Matter Tour; and

 

Whereas, with a career spanning over twenty years and a worldwide reputation as one of today's top entertainers, Katt Williams has developed a career seeded with thousands of sold-out arenas, an expansive list of starring roles on the small screen, and memorable performances in major box office hits. Having performed his first stand-up show as a teenager, Williams took the comedy world by storm and quickly developed a unique style of stand-up that combines articulate and sharp dialogue rooted in conversations reflecting the American political landscape; and

 

Whereas, by 1999, he had cultivated a loyal fan base and was performing on some of the most notable comedy stages across the nation; and

 

Whereas, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 2, 1971, Katt Williams is best known for his portrayal of Money Mike in the film Friday After Next. He also has appeared in Wild 'n Out, My Wife and Kids, The Boondocks, and Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, and he has portrayed Lord Have Mercy in Norbit. In addition, Williams appeared in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV as himself in 2008; and

 

Whereas, the members of the House are pleased to welcome Katt Williams to Charleston as he brings his highly anticipated tour to South Carolina. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, extend a warm welcome to famed stand-up comedian and actor Katt Williams as he visits the Palmetto State and performs on March 29, 2024, at the North Charleston Coliseum.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Katt Williams.
