A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE THE seneca high SCHOOL GIRLS track and field TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO HONOR THEM FOR WINNING THE SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS 3a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is proud to recognize the Seneca High School girls track and field team for winning the South Carolina Class 3A state championship; and

 

Whereas, this historic win marks the program's third straight state championship, the longest win streak in the classification since 2010; and

 

Whereas, in the championship game, the Bobcats defeated runner-up Philip Simmons High School in Charleston by a final margin of 95.5 to 62, the largest margin of victory since 2015; and

 

Whereas, the team was led to victory by Micayla Collins and Celia Gully, who both took home gold in multiple categories. The entire team contributed to the final score and resounding win; and

 

Whereas, the Seneca High School girls track and field team has flourished under the leadership and guidance of Coach Chris White; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the pride and recognition that the Seneca High School girls track and field team has brought to its school and community and look forward to a future filled with further accomplishments by the team and its talented athletes.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the Seneca High School girls track and field team, coaches, and school officials on an outstanding season and honor them for winning the South Carolina Class 3A state championship.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Seneca High School girls track and field team, Coach Chris White, and Principal Dylan Hudson.
