A bill

 

TO AMEND ACT 595 OF 1994, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE ELECTION OF TRUSTEES IN GREENWOOD COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 50, SO AS TO REAPPORTION THE NINE SINGLE-MEMBER DISTRICTS FROM WHICH THE TRUSTEES ARE ELECTED, TO REDESIGNATE THE MAP NUMBER ON WHICH THESE DISTRICTS ARE DELINEATED, AND TO PROVIDE DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THESE REAPPORTIONED DISTRICTS.

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

 

SECTION 1.  Section 2A of Act 595 of 1994, as last amended by Act 103 of 2015, is further amended to read:

 

    Section 2A. (1) Notwithstanding another provision of law or of this act, beginning with the 2016 2026 school district elections, the nine single-member election districts from which the nine members of the Greenwood County School District 50 Board of Trustees must be elected are as shown on the Greenwood County School District 50 map S-47-50-15 S-47-50-24 as prepared and maintained on file by the Office of Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office. The Office of Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office shall provide a certified copy of the map to the school district and the Greenwood County Board of Voter Registration and Elections. The official map must not be changed except by an act of the General Assembly or by a court of competent jurisdiction.

       (2) The demographic information shown on this map is as follows:

SECTION 2.  Notwithstanding another provision of law, the map referenced in this act alters only the boundaries of the single-member election districts that compose Greenwood County School District 50. It does not alter the exterior boundaries of Greenwood County School District 50.

 

SECTION 3.  This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
