Amend the bill, as and if amended, PART VIII, Miscellaneous Provisions, by adding an appropriately numbered SECTION to read:

/ SECTION      ___.      Chapter 5, Title 53 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

     "Section 53-5-110.      Each local school district must observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a legal holiday and schools and offices of each school district must be closed on that day. A district may not schedule make-up days on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Schools and school districts may utilize the funds realized from observing this holiday to provide educational training related to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day observance." /
