EXPLANATION: Define fire department.
Amend the bill, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 117, GENERAL
PROVISIONS, page 523, paragraph , line 8, by adding an
appropriately numbered paragraph to read:
/ (GP: Fire
Department Definition) For all funds collected solely for the
purpose of disbursing funds from the aid to fire district
account within the State Treasury, as directed by Section
38-7-20 (B) (2)of the 1976 Code, a fire department shall be
defined as having a charter from the Office of the State Fire
Marshal. These funds shall be sent from the State Treasury to
the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation to be
disbursed equally among the chartered fire departments./
Renumber sections to conform.
Amend totals and titles to conform.
