Senator FANNING proposed the following amendment (WAB\419C292.SM.WAB20):

Amend the bill, as and if amended, SECTION 6. A., pages 14-15, by deleting Section 59-18-365(F) and inserting:

/ (F)The department , local technical colleges, and State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education shall establish a band of admission standards, to include high school equivalency standards, sufficient to negate the need for a student to attend or enroll in reading or mathematics remediation at the postsecondary level." /
