Senators HEMBREE and GOLDFINCH propose the following amendment (AGM 5 YR OLD ELIGIBILITY FOR 4K):

Amend the bill, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 1, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, page 294, proviso 1.56, after line 34, by inserting:

/ For Fiscal Year 2021-22, in response to the COVID-19 crisis, children who were eligible to participate in the Child Early Reading Development and Education Program in the prior fiscal year but did not participate, shall be eligible to participate in the program during Fiscal Year 2021-22, subject to classroom availability and funding. /

Amend the bill further, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 1A, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION- EIA, page 323, proviso 1A.29, after line 34, by inserting:

/ For Fiscal Year 2021-22, in response to the COVID-19 crisis, children who were eligible to participate in the Child Early Reading Development and Education Program in the prior fiscal year but did not participate, shall be eligible to participate in the program during Fiscal Year 2021-22, subject to classroom availability and funding. /
