 Senators JACKSON and CLIMER propose the following amendment (SA\4025C010.JN.SA25.DOCX):

 Amend the bill, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 117, GENERAL PROVISIONS, page 566, after line 27, by adding an appropriately numbered new proviso to read:

/ (GP: Candy and Soft Drinks) In the current fiscal year, no state funds may be used to fund the purchase of candy or soft drinks. "Candy" shall be defined as a preparation of sugar, honey, or other natural or artificial sweeteners in combination with chocolate, fruit, nuts, or other ingredients or flavorings in the form of bars, drops, or pieces, that does not require refrigeration. "Soft drink" shall be defined as a nonalcoholic beverage made with carbonated water and flavored and sweetened with sugar or artificial sweeteners but does not include a beverage that contains milk; milk products; soy, rice, or other milk substitutes; or more than fifty percent vegetable or fruit juice by volume. /
