Reps. CROMER and EDGERTON propose the following Amendment No. to H.4025 as introduced by Ways & Means

EXPLANATION: An amendment adding a new proviso regarding mandatory housing at institutions of higher education.

Amend the bill, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 117, GENERAL PROVISIONS, page 554, after line 21, by adding an appropriately numbered proviso to read:

/(GP: Mandatory Housing / No public institutions of higher education shall adopt any policy that requires any student to live in on-campus housing as a condition of enrollment. If the Commission on Higher Education finds that a public institution of higher education is in violation of this proviso, then the Commission on Higher Education must then withhold ten percent of all state payments to the public institution of higher education until the policy is fixed.
