EXPLANATION: ESTF Recipient Rates proviso

Amend the bill, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 1, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, page 309, after line 33, by adding an appropriately numbered proviso to read:

/(SDE: ESTF Recipient Rates) The State Board of Education shall investigate the tuition rates charged to Education Scholarship Trust Fund (ESTF) recipients in comparison to non-ESTF students at private or religious schools. The State Board of Education shall also have the authority to investigate the rates that approved vendors charge for goods or services to ESTF recipients. For purposes of conducting these investigations, the State Board of Education may request documentation or other relevant information from participating schools and vendors as necessary. The State Board of Education shall report its findings to the Governor, Chairman of House Ways & Means, and the Chairman of Senate Finance by December 31, 2026. /
