Rep. VAUGHAN proposes the following Amendment No. to H.5126 as Passed By The House

EXPLANATION: Authorizes LAC to audit the Greater Greenville Sanitation Commission.

Amend the bill, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 91, LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT, page 472, after line 5, by adding an appropriately numbered proviso to read:

/(Leg: Greenville Sanitation Audit) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, for the current fiscal year, the Legislative Audit Council is authorized to conduct an audit of the Greater Greenville Sanitation Commission (GGSC), which is a special purpose district as defined in Section 6-11-1610 of the S.C. Code, regardless of whether GGSC receives or expends state appropriated funds, pursuant to an audit request. For the purposes of this provision, the Legislative Audit Council shall have access to all the records, files, documents, contracts, books, and facilities of GGSC. The Legislative Audit Council shall issue a public report of its findings and recommendations, and is authorized to contract for outside assistance for the purposes of this provision, if needed. /
