EXPLANATION:

Amend the bill, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 84, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, page 465, after line 5, by adding an appropriately numbered paragraph to read:

/ (DOT: Delayed Construction Impact Study)  From the funds appropriated to the Department of Transportation, the department shall study the impact of delayed construction projects on businesses. The department shall study the potential loss of revenue to businesses as a result of construction projects that have been extended by thirty-six months or more from its original expected completion date. By June 30, 2027, the department shall report its findings to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate. The department shall provide funding for any necessary staff or outside counsel needed to complete the study. /
