Rep. WETMORE proposes the following amendment (LC-5683.DG0027H):

Amend the bill, as and if amended, by adding an appropriately numbered SECTION to read:

SECTION X. The State Election Commission must pay for any and all reasonable costs incurred by a county or political subdivision to administer, conduct, or carry out any election for one of the seven congressional districts affected under the provisions of Section 7-19-35, as amended by this act, during calendar year 2026. These costs include, but are not limited to, those costs normally incurred by the local and county election offices, and any costs reasonably associated with, or incurred as a result of, any amendments to Section 7-19-35 as contained in this act or any other act of the General Assembly, during the 126th session of the General Assembly or any special session thereof. Renumber sections to conform. Amend title to conform.
