A Concurrent Resolution to congratulate the Furman University Football Team upon earning the NCAA Division I-AA Championship for the 1988 Season by defeating two-time National Champion Georgia Southern with a decisive 17-12 victory in Pocatello, Idaho, on Saturday, December 17, 1988, and claiming the Team's first National Championship, to recognize the Paladins and their coaches for keeping the collegiate sport where it was intended to be by successfully unifying students, faculty, and alumni and maintaining excellence in the classroom as well as on the football field, to invite Coach Jimmy Satterfield to address a joint meeting of the General Assembly at a date and time convenient to the Coach and the General Assembly, and to invite the Furman University Football Players to appear at the meeting.
