A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE ST. JOHN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF GRANITEVILLE UPON THE OCCASION OF ITS ONE HUNDRED FIFTIETH BIRTHDAY.

Whereas, the members of the Senate with great pride and pleasure have learned that the St. John United Methodist Church of Graniteville, South Carolina, will be celebrating its one hundred fiftieth birthday in 1996; and

Whereas, on Sunday, April 28, 1996, a commemorative celebration will be held at the church celebrating this wonderful institution's one hundred fifty years of service to God and its community of believers; and

Whereas, today, under the leadership of Minister Bruce Palmer, the members of the congregation continue to carry on the great tradition established in 1846 by their forebears; and

Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate this outstanding church, its fine minister, and each member of its dedicated congregation upon the occasion of its one hundred fiftieth birthday. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate hereby congratulate the St. John United Methodist Church of Graniteville upon the occasion of its one hundred fiftieth birthday.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Rev. Bruce Palmer, Minister, St. John United Methodist Church.
