AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 8-13-1320, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE PreviousATTRIBUTIONNext OF CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS TO SPECIFIC TYPES OF ELECTIONS, SO AS TO REVISE THE MANNER IN WHICH CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS ARE PreviousATTRIBUTEDNext TO A PRIMARY ELECTION AND TO A PRIMARY ELECTION RUNOFF.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 8-13-1320 of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 248 of 1991, is amended to read:

"Section 8-13-1320.    For purposes of this article:

(1)    A contribution made on or before the seventh day after a primary is PreviousattributedNext to the primary. However, in the event of a primary runoff, all contributions made after the day of the primary and continuing through the seventh day after the primary runoff are PreviousattributedNext to the primary runoff for the purposes of applying contribution limits.

(2)    A contribution made on or before the end of the quarter immediately following a general election or special election is Previousattributed to the general election or special election, respectively."

Time effective

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
