VERSIONS OF THIS BILL

H. 4224

A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES FROM SOUTH CAROLINA WHO SUCCESSFULLY AND PreviousCOURAGEOUSLYNext DEFENDED THIS GREAT COUNTRY DURING OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM AND ON BEHALF OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO WELCOME THEM HOME.

Whereas, the men and women of the Marine Corps, Navy, Army, Air Force, Reserves, and the South Carolina National Guard have conducted themselves with unyielding loyalty and dedication to the United States of America during Operation Iraqi Freedom; and

Whereas, the men and women of the United States Armed Forces, as well as their families and friends, endured great hardship and sacrifice in an effort to disarm and liberate Iraq from tyranny; and

Whereas, the people of South Carolina rallied behind President George W. Bush in an effort to show their support for the United States troops in the Persian Gulf region and sought a safe and swift return for the troops; and

Whereas, the United States Armed Forces and the other coalition forces presented the enemy with a strong unified body of troops whose professionalism and discipline crushed the will of the enemy troops who opposed them; and

Whereas, these men and women fought with valor and a great spirit of determination and pride for their country; and

Whereas, as a result of the determination of our troops, the United States of America was vital in achieving one of the most devastating and decisive victories in the history of mankind; and

Whereas, many of the troops from South Carolina are returning and our citizens are proud of their performance and want to welcome them home. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces from South Carolina who successfully and Previouscourageously defended this great country during Operation Iraqi Freedom and on behalf of the State of South Carolina welcome them home.
