A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

SALUTING DARELL NETTLES OF GEORGETOWN COUNTY FOR HIS ACTS OF HEROISM AND BRAVERY IN SAVING THE LIFE OF A FELLOW HUMAN BEING FROM A BURNING HOME.

Whereas, Darell Nettles, a junior at Georgetown High School, along with Kenneth Wright, saved the life of an elderly lady from her burning home; and

Whereas, the lady, Mrs. Viola Kinlaw of the North Santee Community, was rescued from the flames which were engulfing her home on Thursday, February 2, 1995; and

Whereas, Darell Nettles' quick-thinking and genuine courage helped preserve the life of a fellow human being; and

Whereas, he is a truly outstanding young man and his heroism merits the recognition of the General Assembly. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, salute Darell Nettles of Georgetown County for his acts of heroism and bravery in saving the life of a fellow human being from a burning home.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Darell Nettles.
