A HOUSE RESOLUTION
RECOGNIZING AND SALUTING "HERITAGE DAY
CELEBRATION" AT REDCLIFF PLANTATION IN AIKEN
COUNTY, MAY 27, 1995.
Whereas, "Heritage Day Celebration" will be held at
Redcliff Plantation in Aiken County on May 27, 1995; and
Whereas, the celebration is sponsored by the Beech Island Historical
Society; and
Whereas, the theme of the celebration is honoring the veterans of
World War II during the fiftieth anniversary of the culmination of
that war; and
Whereas, the sacrifices, dedication, courage, and valor of these
wonderful veterans, and of all those who died during the war years
in defense of the United States and freedom, will be spotlighted;
and
Whereas, the Heritage Day Celebration will feature a parade,
presentations, and other events; United States Senator Strom
Thurmond will serve as parade marshal and will accept accolades
for his outstanding war record; and Congressman Lindsey Graham
will serve as the celebration's featured speaker; and
Whereas, the Heritage Day Celebration is truly a worthwhile event
whose purpose is highly deserving of commendation. Now,
therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina,
by this resolution, recognizes and salutes "Heritage Day
Celebration" at Redcliff Plantation in Aiken County, May 27,
1995.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the Beech Island Historical Society.
