A SENATE RESOLUTION

COMMENDING MR. TOMMY HAZELTON, FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR AT THE BROAD RIVER CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION, FOR HIS COURAGE AND BRAVERY DURING A MAIN DISTURBANCE AT THE INSTITUTION ON APRIL 17, 1995.

Whereas, Mr. Tommy Hazelton is Food Service Director at the Broad River Correctional Institution; and

Whereas, he displayed great courage and bravery during a main disturbance at the institution on April 17, 1995, as he endured eleven long hours of being held hostage; and

Whereas, the selfless actions of this outstanding state employee reflects great credit upon him, the Department of Corrections, and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends Mr. Tommy Hazelton Food Service Director at the Broad River Correctional Institution, for his courage and bravery during a main disturbance at the institution on April 17, 1995.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Hazelton.
