A BILL
TO DECLARE A CERTAIN ROAD IN LEXINGTON COUNTY TO
BE A COUNTY ROAD AND A PART OF THE COUNTY ROAD
SYSTEM OF LEXINGTON COUNTY.
Whereas, the former Lexington County Road Commissioner has, by
affidavit dated May 1, 1993, deposed and said, as road commissioner of
that county from 1952 to 1972, that the road which starts on Highway
391 in Lexington County on the property now owned by Greg and
Angela Turner and Harold Davis and goes around Davis Pond and by
and across property owned by Lucille Ridgell and ends on Bethlehem
Road in said county on property now or formerly owned by Wyman
Davis and Tony Miller was built and maintained by Lexington County
as a county road; and
Whereas, the weight of legal opinion is that such a road as above
described remains in the county road system of such a county unless
legally removed therefrom, and the road described above has never been
so removed. Now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The road which starts on Highway 391 in Lexington
County on the property now owned by Greg and Angela Turner and
Harold Davis and goes around Davis Pond and by and across property
owned by Lucille Ridgell and ends on Bethlehem Road in that county
on property now or formerly owned by Wyman Davis and Tony Miller
is declared to be a county road of the County of Lexington and a part of
the county road system of that county for all purposes.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
