H 2622 General Bill, By J.P. Gardner, T.J. Ervin, J.E. Gonzales, B.J. Gordon,
T.E. Huff and H.H. Keyserling
A Bill to amend the 1976 code by adding a new Article 11 to Chapter 21 of
Title 14, so as to provide for the equitable apportionment of marital property
by the Family Courts of this State including provisions to establish those
factors of the Court shall give weight to and consider when making such
apportionment, to define what constitutes marital property, to provide for
certain powers, authority and jurisdiction of the Court in such matters and
when making such apportionment, to permit the parties in such proceedings to
record a notice of the pendency of the proceeding and apply for and record a
transcript of judgment, to provide for the form that such transcript of
judgment shall take, and to repeal Section 14-21-1020 relating to the power,
authority and jurisdiction of the Family Court in certain actions concerning
divorce, separation, settlement of property rights and related matters.
