A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE HOLLY HILL-ROBERTS HIGH SCHOOL BOYS TRACK TEAM ON WINNING THE CLASS AAA STATE TRACK TITLE.

Whereas, the Holly Hill-Roberts boys track team edged T. L. Hanna High School by six points to claim the Class AAA state track and field championship; and

Whereas, consistency was the key for the Bulldogs on the day; and

Whereas, Holly Hill-Roberts had only one first-place winner; however, by carding six top-three finishers, was able to prevail over the surging Yellow Jackets; and

Whereas, Harold Jamison, who has already committed to play basketball for Clemson University next season, won the discus handily with a score of 153-9; and

Whereas, Clifton Greer from Belton-Honea Path was a distant second, 151-0, while Holly Hill-Roberts' Jonathan Staley finished third in the event with a score of 147-9; and

Whereas, other key performers by the state champion Bulldogs were: Lacra Jenkins, 110-meter hurdles, 15.08 (second); Duane Brisbon, 400-meters, 48.05 (second); Brisbon, triple jump, 47.5 (second); and Brisbon, 200-meters, 22.15 (third). Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate the Holly Hill-Roberts High School Boys Track Team on winning the Class AAA state track title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Holly Hill-Roberts High School.
