A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO CONGRATULATE COACH HALLMAN EUGENE SEASE, JR., FOR
LEADING THE ANDREW JACKSON ACADEMY "CONFEDERATES" FOOTBALL TEAM TO THE THIRD
STRAIGHT SCISAA CLASS A EIGHT-MAN FOOTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND FOR HIS
BEING NAMED COACH OF THE YEAR.

A HOUSE RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE COACH HALLMAN EUGENE SEASE,
JR., FOR LEADING THE ANDREW JACKSON ACADEMY
"CONFEDERATES" FOOTBALL TEAM TO THE
THIRD STRAIGHT SCISAA CLASS A EIGHT-MAN FOOTBALL
STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND FOR HIS BEING NAMED
COACH OF THE YEAR.
Whereas, the Andrew Jackson Academy "Confederates"
football team won the SCISAA Class A Eight-Man football state
championship for the third year in a row; and
Whereas, Coach Gene Sease has been named the SCISAA Class A
Eight-Man Coach of the Year for the second year in a row; and
Whereas, the senior tailback and defensive back for the Confederates,
Ben Willis, who led the State in rushing with over two thousand
yards this season was named the SCISAA Class A Eight-Man Player
of the Year; and
Whereas, the Confederates won their first three games by an average
of fifty points and went on to defeat the final four opponents; and
Whereas, in the first round of the playoffs, the Confederates hosted
their longtime rivals Bowman Academy for the third time in 1997
and successfully defeated the Bulldogs for their return trip to the
SCISAA Class A championship; and
Whereas, this outstanding team has flourished under the direction of
Coach Sease who is known for not only capturing state titles but for
turning out exception young men; and
Whereas, Coach Sease and his able assistant coaches, Billy Still,
Dave Clayton, Steve Brabham, and Calin Hiers and the Confederates
are to be commended for their commitment, dedication, and hard
work. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution,
congratulate Coach Hallman Eugene Sease, Jr., for leading the
Andrew Jackson Academy "Confederates" football team
to the third straight SCISAA Class A Eight-Man football state
championship and for his being named Coach of the Year.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Coach Gene Sease.
