 SOUTH CAROLINA, ITS PRINCIPAL CATHY WATSON, AND ITS FACULTY, STAFF, PARENTS,
 AND STUDENTS FOR THEIR SCHOOL'S SELECTION AS A CAROLINA FIRST PALMETTO'S
 FINEST SCHOOL FOR 1996-97, AND TO RECOGNIZE THEM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING
 EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS.

TO CONGRATULATE RAVENEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF SENECA, SOUTH CAROLINA, ITS PRINCIPAL, CATHY WATSON, AND ITS FACULTY, STAFF, PARENTS, AND STUDENTS FOR THEIR SCHOOL'S SELECTION AS A CAROLINA FIRST PALMETTO'S FINEST SCHOOL FOR 1996-97, AND TO RECOGNIZE THEM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS.

Whereas, Ravenel Elementary School is located in Seneca, South Carolina; and

Whereas, Ravenel Elementary is justifiably proud of its educational successes, including its academic programs and its programs emphasizing life skills: how to get along, how to talk to each other, and how to make decisions; and

Whereas, the school also emphasizes technology, the arts, and hands-on learning in math and science; and

Whereas, its parents are happy to support the school as a place where their children are respected and encouraged to excel; and

Whereas, its principal, Cathy Watson, her faculty and staff, and the parents and students of Ravenel Elementary are pleased but not surprised that their school is one of the best; and

Whereas, Carolina First Bank and the South Carolina Association of School Administrators agree that Ravenel Elementary School is an exemplary school, having honored it as one of two elementary schools in the State to be a "Palmetto's Finest" school. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina does hereby congratulate Ravenel Elementary School of Seneca, South Carolina, its principal, Cathy Watson, and its faculty, staff, parents, and students for their school's selection as a Carolina First Palmetto's Finest School for 1996-97 and recognizing them for their outstanding educational achievements.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Principal Cathy Watson on behalf of the Ravenel Elementary School family.
