H*3773 Session 123 (2019-2020) H 3773 Concurrent Resolution, By Lucas, Funderburk and Wheeler A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY, UPON THE PASSING OF GRADY GLENN NEWMAN OF KERSHAW COUNTY, AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS LARGE AND LOVING FAMILY AND HIS MANY FRIENDS.
TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY, UPON THE PASSING OF GRADY GLENN NEWMAN OF KERSHAW COUNTY, AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS LARGE AND LOVING FAMILY AND HIS MANY FRIENDS. Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly were saddened to learn of the death of Grady Glenn Newman at the age of eighty-two on Wednesday, January 23, 2019; and
Whereas, born in Bethune, he was a son
Whereas, in the patriotic tradition of the Whereas, he served the Kershaw County School District as a maintenance supervisor until his retirement; and Whereas, a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Mr. Newman served his church as a deacon and Sunday school teacher; and Whereas, devoted to his community, he was a member of Bethune Lions Club, Woodman of the World Lodge # 757, and Lynchwood Lodge # 197 AFM (Ancient Free Masons); and Whereas, Mr. Newman served on the Kershaw County Election Commission, Kershaw County Red Cross Board of Directors, and the Bethune Town Council; and Whereas, together with his beloved wife, Myrtis Eubanks Newman, he reared two fine daughters, Theresa N. Horton of Lugoff and Donna N. Gaskins of Bethune; and Whereas, his daughters blessed him with the affection of five grandchildren: Daniel Roberts, David Roberts, Josh Roberts, Andrea Gaskins Starling, and Will Gaskins. Adding to his delight, seven great-grandchildren made him a proud great-grandfather; and Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are grateful for the life and legacy of Grady Newman and for the example of service and kindness he set for all who knew him. Now, therefore, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring: That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow, upon the passing of Grady Glenn Newman of Kershaw County, and extend their deepest sympathy to his large and loving family and his many friends. Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Grady Glenn Newman.
