 AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM FOR BEING NAMED THE 2018-2019 SURVEYOR OF THE YEAR.

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR ALEXANDER CLARKE "SANDY" PEABODY AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM FOR BEING NAMED THE 2018-2019 SURVEYOR OF THE YEAR.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to learn that Alexander Clarke "Sandy" Peabody was honored as the 2018-2019 Surveyor of the Year by the South Carolina Society of Professional Land Surveyors; and

Whereas, Alexander Clarke Peabody is an alumnus of Trident Technical College, where he earned an associate's degree in Civil Engineering, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's William States Lee School of Engineering, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology; and

Whereas, Mr. Peabody began his accomplished career in land surveying in 1994 under the director supervision of Herbert "Bert" A. Niemyer, PE & PLS. He also worked for Lucas-Forman, Inc. and the Beaufort County Engineering Department. After moving to Charleston, he had the opportunity to work with Bert Niemyer again as Niemyer & Peabody, LLC, and after Bert's retirement, he formed Peabody & Associates, Inc.; and

Whereas, an active leader in his community and profession, Mr. Peabody has been involved with the Coastal Chapter of the South Carolina Society of Processional Land Surveyors as a member, president, and vice president and with the Center for Heirs Property Preservation as a board member and treasurer; and

Whereas, an avid outdoorsman, Mr. Peabody enjoys hunting, fishing, and surfing. In his free time, he also enjoys spending time with his family; and

Whereas, Mr. Peabody is married to Katherine "Kate" Rowland Peabody. Together, they have two sons, Clark and Alexander; and

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate values the pride and recognition that Alexander Clarke "Sandy" Peabody has brought to his profession and to the Palmetto State, and the members look forward to a future filled with further accomplishments by this talented surveyor. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Alexander Clarke "Sandy" Peabody and congratulate him for being named the 2018-2019 Surveyor of the Year.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Alexander Clarke "Sandy" Peabody.
