A SENATE RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR HARRIET EASLER OF LEXINGTON COUNTY
FOR HER OUTSTANDING COMMITMENT AND DEDICATION TO THE EDUCATION OF SOUTH
CAROLINA'S YOUTH, AND TO WISH HER ALL THE BEST UPON HER RETIREMENT FROM
 LEXINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

05/16/06 Senate Introduced and adopted SJ-10

S. 1424

A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR HARRIET EASLER OF LEXINGTON COUNTY FOR HER OUTSTANDING COMMITMENT AND DEDICATION TO THE EDUCATION OF SOUTH CAROLINA'S YOUTH, AND TO WISH HER ALL THE BEST UPON HER RETIREMENT FROM LEXINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the South Carolina Senate recognizes South Carolinians who so selflessly give of their time and energy in developing young minds in their communities; and

Whereas, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements of those who teach and to encourage these individuals who continue to inspire children year after year; and

Whereas, Harriet Easler, a kindergarten teacher at Lexington Elementary School, truly deserves this special recognition, as she has helped to shape countless young lives in her incredible thirty-five year career in education; and

Whereas, a Newberry College graduate, Mrs. Easler earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and her Master's Degree in Early Childhood from the University of South Carolina Education; and

Whereas, a devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Easler celebrates a loving marriage with her husband, Bubba Easler, and has a grown daughter, Leah Easler-Fitts, who is also a teacher following in her mother's footsteps.

Whereas, though spending most of her career as a kindergarten teacher, Ms. Easler taught second grade for her first three years as an educator; and

Whereas, her patient, caring attitude, and devotion to her students have helped provide them with a strong foundation upon which to build a solid education; and

Whereas, Ms. Easler's reach extends far beyond the schoolyard, as students carry the life lessons learned in her classroom with them as they become the men and women they are destined to be; and

Whereas, Harriet Easler remains as dedicated to her students and to the furtherance of public education as she was when she began her career as an educator thirty-five years ago, and the students of Lexington Elementary School and the Lexington community as a whole are fortunate to call her their own. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Harriet Easler of Lexington County for her outstanding commitment and dedication to the education of South Carolina's youth, and wish her the best upon her retirement from Lexington Elementary School.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Harriet Easler.
