 HILL FOR A REMARKABLE SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON WINNING THE 2019 CLASS
 AAAAA WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IN THE 195-POUND WEIGHT CLASS.

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR EASLEY HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLER JOSHUA HILL FOR A REMARKABLE SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON WINNING THE 2019 CLASS AAAAA WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IN THE 195-POUND WEIGHT CLASS.

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that on February 23, 2019, wrestler Joshua Hill, a junior at Easley High School in Pickens County, took top honors at the state competition in the 195-pound weight class and became his school's first wrestling champion; and

Whereas, over the course of the season, Josh accumulated an enviable 43-3 record, served as a team captain, and completed his fifth year of wrestling. In addition to his triumph at the state competition, he achieved a 7-0 record at region matches and twenty-three pins overall; and

Whereas, in a sport that demands mental fortitude and individual excellence, he capitalized on his passion and athletic talent to hone his wrestling skill and become a champion, in the process learning lessons that will prove invaluable throughout life, both on and off the mats; and

Whereas, this outstanding student-athlete gives back to his school and community by volunteering and helping with fundraising for SHINE Soup Kitchen, reading to elementary students, and working as a volunteer at NewSpring Church. He is the son of Stephen and Tonia Hill of Easley; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the pride and recognition that Joshua Hill has brought to his school and community, and the members look to hear of his continued accomplishments in the days to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Easley High School wrestler Joshua Hill for a remarkable season and congratulate him on winning the 2019 Class AAAAA Championship title in the 195-pound weight class.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Joshua Hill.
