AN ACT TO INCREASE THE TAX MILLAGE OF MARION SCHOOL DISTRICT 4 BY TWENTY-FIVE MILLS IF THE ELECTION PROVIDED FOR RESULTS FAVORABLY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Tax mill age increased
Section 1. The tax mill age of Marion School District 4 is increased by twenty-five mills. The additional revenue derived from the increase shall be paid directly to the district.
Election to be held
Section 2. The provisions of Section 1 shall take effect if a majority of the registered electors voting in the election provided for by this section vote favorably to the increase in tax mill age. An election shall be held at the same time as the next general election for representatives. Ballots shall be provided at the various voting precincts with the following words printed or written thereon:
"Shall the tax mill age of Marion County School District No. 4 be increased by twenty-five mills?
Yes_____
No _____
Those voting in favor of the question shall deposit a ballot with a check or cross mark in the square after the word 'Yes' and those voting-against the question shall deposit a ballot with a check or cross mark in the square after the word 'No'."
Results canvassed and certified
Section 3. The commissioners of election shall canvass the results and certify them to the Marion County Clerk of Court and to the Legislative Council.
Time effective
Section 4. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
