AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 34-3-410, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE PUBLISHING BY BANKING INSTITUTIONS CALLED FOR BY THE STATE BOARD OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, SO AS TO REQUIRE THE STATEMENT TO BE PUBLISHED WHERE THE BANKING INSTITUTION WAS ESTABLISHED INSTEAD OF WHERE LOCATED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Statements to be published

SECTION 1. Section 34-3-410 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 34-3-410. The statements required by Sections 34-3-380 and 34-3-400 to be published by the banking institutions in this State must be called for by the State Board of Financial Institutions not less than two nor more than four

times each year and published in a newspaper in the county in which the banking institution was established. When no newspaper is published in the county in which a bank was established the statement must be published in a newspaper having general circulation in the county. Any statement must be promptly published by any newspaper to which it is delivered and in the next succeeding issue after the delivery of the statement, and if the statement is not published in the next succeeding issue after the delivery of the notice no charge may be made for the publication. A written copy of the statement must be in the hands of the printer at least twenty-four hours before publication of the paper."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
