AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT IN CIVIL ACTIONS PROOF OF SERVICE BY PUBLICATION, IN ADDITION TO THE METHOD PROVIDED BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA RULES OF CIVIL PROCEDURE, MAY BE MADE BY AFFIDAVIT BEFORE A SOUTH CAROLINA NOTARY PUBLIC THAT THE APPROPRIATE NOTICE HAS BEEN PRINTED OR PUBLISHED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Proof of service

SECTION 1. In addition to the method of proof of service by publication provided by the South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure, proof of service by publication may be made by affidavit before a notary public of this State that the appropriate notice has been printed or published.

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
