AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 14-17-20, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE CLERK OF THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS SERVING AS CLERK OF ALL COURTS OF RECORD, SO AS TO INCLUDE THE FAMILY COURT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Family court ex officio clerk

SECTION 1. Section 14-17-20 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 14-17-20. The clerk of the court of common pleas elected in each county pursuant to Section 14-17-10 is ex officio clerk of the court of general sessions, the family court, and all other courts of record in the county except as may be provided by the law establishing the other courts."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
