The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

Almighty God, Whose Word declares that "all things work together for good to them that love the Lord", help us to love You with our whole heart and to trust in Your guidance even when the future appears mysterious and unexplainable. When confusion and uncertainty surround us, keep our visions high and our motives pure. Enable us to be calm, confident, wise and fair - ever strengthened by a steadfast faith in Him Who says: "The Lord is above all nations, and His glory above the heavens" - Psalm 113:3,4.

In the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ, we pray.

Amen.
