AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 501 OF 1971, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IN BARNWELL COUNTY, SO AS TO CHANGE THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION SCHOOL BOARD.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 1 of Act 501 of 1971, as last amended by Act 712 of 1978, is further amended to read:
"Section 1. There is created the Barnwell County Vocational Education School Board to be composed of eight members. Two must be residents of Barnwell School District 45, one must be a resident of Williston School District 29, one must be a resident of Blackville School District 19, and one must be a resident of the county at large. The other three members must be representatives from the boards of trustees of the three school districts. The members, except the representatives of the boards of trustees, must be appointed by the county board of commissioners to serve terms of three years. However, of the initial appointments, which must be made by the county legislative delegation, two must be appointed to serve for two years and two for one year. The fifth member shall serve for three years."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
