AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 318 OF 1965, RELATING TO THE CHEROKEE SPRINGS FIRE DISTRICT IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF FIRE CONTROL FOR THE DISTRICT TO BORROW A MAXIMUM OF TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS RATHER THAN A MAXIMUM OF TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Borrowing power, amount

SECTION 1. Section 5(h) of Act 318 of 1965 is amended to read:

"(h) To borrow not exceeding two hundred thousand dollars on terms and for a period as to the fire control board may seem most beneficial for the fire district in anticipation of taxes. The indebtedness must be evidenced by a note issued by the members of the board and the county treasurer. The full faith, credit, and taxing power of the Cherokee Springs Fire District is irrevocably pledged for the payment of the indebtedness."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
