The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

As we bow before You in this morning prayer, we ask, O Lord, that You make us adequate for this day, ready for our responsibilities, and equal for every task. In these quiet moments, help us to feel Your presence which alone can change our attitude from fear to faith, from caution to courage and from darkness to light. Make us to abide in Your sustaining strength causing temptations to loose their power, bitterness to fade away, resentments to shed their weight. Open our hearts to receive the good seed of Your Word to ripen into a harvest altogether pleasing in Your sight.

In the Name of Jesus, our Lord, we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
