A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING SOLICITOR DONNIE MYERS OF LEXINGTON COUNTY ON BEING NAMED THE 1991 TRIAL LAWYER OF THE YEAR FOR REGION IV BY THE ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENT ATTORNEYS ON CAPITAL LITIGATION.

Whereas, the Association of Government Attorneys on Capital Litigation (AGACL) named Donnie Myers, solicitor of South Carolina's Eleventh Judicial Circuit, as the 1991 Trial Lawyer of the Year for Region IV during the AGACL's annual convention in Orlando, Florida during August, 1991; and

Whereas, Region IV includes South Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia; and

Whereas, the AGACL selected Solicitor Myers for the award because of his phenomenal success as a prosecuting attorney in death penalty cases and his reputation as a dedicated public servant with total commitment and unstinting devotion to the law; and

Whereas, Solicitor Myers' selection for this honor is greatly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Solicitor Donnie Myers of Lexington County on being named the 1991 Trial Lawyer of the Year for Region IV by the Association of Government Attorneys on Capital Litigation.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Solicitor Donnie Myers.
