A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE RED RAIDERS OF GREENVILLE HIGH SCHOOL ON WINNING THE BOYS' CLASS AAA STATE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 1992.

Whereas, Greenville High School has won the boys' Class AAA state basketball championship by defeating Burke High School 78-76 in a dramatic and exciting double overtime game to finish the season with a 25-8 record; and

Whereas, the Greenville Red Raiders had a very outstanding season for 1991-92 which culminated in accepting the state championship trophy; and

Whereas, the team members and the coaching staff are to be commended for their dedication, excellent abilities, hard work, and unity which propelled them to a season-ending status of "Number One" in the State; and

Whereas, winning a state championship is a superb accomplishment and an honor highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Red Raiders of Greenville High School on winning the boys' Class AAA state basketball championship for 1992.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Head Coach William L. Johnson and the 1991-92 Greenville Red Raiders basketball team of Greenville High School, 1 Vardry Street, Greenville, 29601-3585.
