A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-21-143 SO AS TO REQUIRE THE WILDLIFE AND MARINE RESOURCES DEPARTMENT TO ESTABLISH SPEED LIMITS FOR THE OPERATION OF VESSELS ON THE EDISTO RIVER AND PROVIDE FOR POSTING OF THE LIMITS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-21-143. The Department of Wildlife and Marine Resources shall establish speed limits for the operation of vessels on the Edisto River. The speed limits must be posted on the river to give notice to the operators of the vessels."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
