A SENATE RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING CHRIS BARRETT OF SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SENIOR AT BOILING SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL, ON HIS RECEIVING ONE OF THE NATIONAL BETA CLUB'S TOP FOUR SCHOLARSHIPS, AND COMMENDING HIM FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SCHOLASTIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND SERVICE TO OTHERS.

Whereas, Chris Barrett of Spartanburg County, a senior at Boiling Springs High School, has been chosen to receive one of the National Beta Club's top four scholarships; and

Whereas, these scholarships range from four thousand dollars to ten thousand dollars each to be divided among the student's four years in college; and

Whereas, the finalists for the scholarships are ranked by the Educational Testing Service of Princeton, New Jersey, and the finalists' placement, from first to fourth, will be announced at the Beta Club National Convention in Washington, D.C., on June 20, 1992; and

Whereas, Chris Barrett's selection for one of these scholarships is a superb accomplishment, and all South Carolinians are very proud of the honor he has brought upon the State; and

Whereas, Chris is not only a top student academically but is an outstanding individual as well, helping others in various capacities every chance he gets; and

Whereas, Chris Barrett is highly deserving of commendation and the Senate is delighted to have this opportunity to recognize him. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognizes Chris Barrett of Spartanburg County, senior at Boiling Springs High School, on his receiving one of the National Beta Club's top four scholarships and commends him for his outstanding scholastic accomplishments and service to others.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Chris Barrett.
