A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE DOROTHY BRYAN O'NEILL OF CHARLESTON COUNTY FOR HER OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION AS A "PROFESSIONAL MOTHER", SETTING A FINE EXAMPLE FOR HER CHILDREN.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly wish to recognize the contributions of Dorothy Bryan O'Neill for the example she has set for her family and friends; and

Whereas, Mrs. O'Neill and the late Lawrence O'Neill had twelve children; and

Whereas, eleven children have graduated from college, several having received graduate degrees and all have been very successful in life; and

Whereas, Mrs. O'Neill calls her children the "investment that's paid many dividends"; and

Whereas, this sprightly woman at age eighty still has a twinkle in her eye and continues to serve as a beacon and family matriarch for which we all should aspire; and

Whereas, she has forty-one grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; and

Whereas, she is known by her children as a loving disciplinarian; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly wish to congratulate Mrs. Dorothy Bryan O'Neill on the fine example she has set as a mother and wish her the very best in her golden years. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Dorothy Bryan O'Neill of Charleston County for her outstanding contributions as a "professional mother", setting a fine example for her children.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Dorothy Bryan O'Neill.
