A SENATE RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING THE IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTION OF ADVANCED TELECOMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION IN PROVIDING HIGH-QUALITY COMPETITIVE LONG DISTANCE SERVICE TO SOUTH CAROLINA BUSINESSES AND RESIDENTS.

Whereas, Advanced Telecommunications Corporation is a four hundred forty million dollar public company based in Atlanta, Georgia; and

Whereas, it provides high-quality, competitive long distance services to the businesses and residents of South Carolina; and

Whereas, the company conducts business as ATC Long Distance from its state headquarters office at 250 Berryhill Road, Converse Building, in Columbia; and

Whereas, ATC Long Distance currently employs ten South Carolinians, with plans to employ up to twenty-four by 1993; and

Whereas, this company estimates South Carolina revenues to reach eighteen million dollars by 1993; and

Whereas, ATC has invested more than five hundred thousand dollars in this State in its first year in business, and plans to escalate that investment by adding offices in Greenville, Charleston, and Myrtle Beach. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the South Carolina Senate recognizes the important contributions of Advanced Telecommunications Corporation in providing high-quality competitive long distance services to South Carolina businesses and residents.
