TO AMEND SECTION 61-1-30, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO RESTRICTED EMPLOYMENT AND ACTIVITIES OF MEMBERS OF THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL COMMISSION, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT NO MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION MAY HOLD ANY OTHER POSITION OF TRUST OR PROFIT AND REQUIRE THAT A MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION SHALL DEVOTE HIS ENTIRE TIME TO THE DUTIES OF THE OFFICE; AND PROVIDE THAT THE AMENDMENT TO THIS SECTION APPLIES TO COMMISSIONERS APPOINTED AFTER JULY 1, 1991.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 61-1-30 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 61-1-30. No member of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission shall may:
(a) engage in any occupation or business interfering with or inconsistent with his duties;
(b) serve on any committee of a political party or;
(c) contribute directly or indirectly money or anything of value in support of any candidate for office or to any political organization or hold any other position of trust or profit.
A member of the commission shall devote his entire time to the duties of the office."
SECTION 2. The amendment to Section 61-1-30 of the 1976 Code applies to commissioners appointed after July 1, 1991.
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
