TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 17-5-130 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ANNUALLY SHALL SUPPLEMENT THE SALARY OF CORONERS IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS AND TO REQUIRE THE SUPPLEMENT TO BE INCREASED AT THE SAME TIME AND IN THE SAME AMOUNT AS THE SUPPLEMENT TO SHERIFFS IS INCREASED.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 1, Chapter 5, Title 17 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 17-5-130. The General Assembly shall provide an annual salary supplement to coroners in the amount of one thousand seven hundred fifty dollars. This supplement must be increased at the same time and in the same amount that the supplement paid to sheriffs is increased."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 1991.
