A BILL

TO AUTHORIZE THE STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVISION TO ISSUE A PERMIT TO CARRY A CONCEALED FIREARM TO A RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER HAVING TWENTY-FIVE YEARS' SATISFACTORY SERVICE WITH A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The State Law Enforcement Division is authorized to issue, upon request, a permit to carry a concealed firearm to a retired law enforcement officer having twenty-five years' satisfactory service with a law enforcement agency. The request must be in writing upon forms prescribed by the State Law Enforcement Division.

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
