A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 17-13-170 SO AS TO ALLOW LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES TO FINGERPRINT AND PHOTOGRAPH PERSONS ARRESTED FOR CRIMINAL OFFENSES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Chapter 13, Title 17 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 17-13-170. Pursuant to guidelines as may be established by courts of competent jurisdiction, law enforcement authorities may fingerprint and photograph persons arrested for criminal offenses."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
