That they have duly and carefully considered the same, and recommend that the same do pass:

STATEMENT OF ESTIMATED FISCAL IMPACT

Thereafter $-0-

H. 3195, if enacted, will express commendation from the General Assembly for the work done by the South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council in developing the state plan for the transition from school into adult community life of people with disabilities, and to express the sense of the General Assembly that the legislative recommendation contained in the state plan should be enacted into law.

No new General Funds will be requried if H. 3195 is enacted.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES COUNCIL, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, FOR DEVELOPING AN OUTSTANDING STATE PLAN ON THE TRANSITION FROM SCHOOL INTO ADULT COMMUNITY LIFE OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND TO EXPRESS THE SENSE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY THAT THE LEGISLATIVE RECOMMENDATIONS CONTAINED IN THE STATE PLAN SHOULD BE ENACTED INTO LAW.

Whereas, the South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council, Office of the Governor, has developed a state plan on the transition from school into adult community life of people with disabilities; and

Whereas, this plan consists of thirteen recommendations designed so that each citizen with disabilities has the opportunity to receive the services and experiences necessary to progress through the educational system into the community to live and participate in work and other meaningful activities as a productive and contributing member of society; and

Whereas, if the recommendations of this plan are implemented it will bring a new era toward self-sufficiency and full community participation for citizens with disabilities. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly commend the South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council, Office of the Governor, for developing an outstanding state plan on the transition from school into adult community life of people with disabilities and further express their sense that the legislative recommendations contained in the state plan be enacted into law.
