A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE STAFF OF THE CHESTERFIELD COUNTY OFFICE OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF PROBATION, PAROLE AND PARDON SERVICES ON BEING AWARDED THE THIRD ANNUAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S OFFICE EXCELLENCE AWARD.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were delighted to learn that the staff of the Chesterfield County Office of the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services was awarded the third annual Executive Director's Office Excellence Award at the department's annual meeting on November 19, 1990, in Columbia; and

Whereas, agency executive director, Michael J. Cavanaugh, in presenting the award, noted that it recognizes "the office that demonstrates exceptional leadership, interagency cooperation, innovation, and professionalism"; and

Whereas, the award is a well-deserved tribute to the efforts of the outstanding public servants of the Chesterfield County office of the Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, including the agent in charge, Edwin C. Zahler, Jr., probation/parole agents II, Jerry Rivers and Tammy Davis-Quick, and administrative specialist B Martha Hamilton; and

Whereas, it is appropriate that the members of the

General Assembly pause briefly in their deliberations so that they might congratulate such a distinguished group of public servants on the occasion of their recognition with the director's office excellence award so that their efforts might be an inspiration to all who labor in the public's behalf. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly express congratulations to the staff of the Chesterfield County office of the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services on being awarded the third annual Executive Director's Office Excellence Award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Edwin C. Zahler, Jr., agent in charge, Chesterfield County Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services.
